Gone Again
It is official. I took Mike to the ship early this morning. I haven't cried dropping him off in a long time and I promised myself I would be tough for him. Not so much! I was good until we got out of the car and he put his arms around me then I totally lost it. I was so not ready to say goodbye. 70 days.............I can do 70 days right? On a much happier note, we received a call today that our loan for our new house has been fully approved!!!! Very exciting stuff, we should have a close date in the next couple of days. Although I have to move alone some of you know getting this house has been a very long and bumpy road. I can occupy my time making it nice for my hubby to come home to. Oh yeah and two boys in baseball, school and church activities should take up some time too.

Knock Off Hooter Hider

I found a free tutorial to sew your own nursing cover. I am a very novice seamstress but this turned out pretty well. I found this awesome fabric at The Quilter's Coop in Temecula. Not your cheapest fabric but I love it! It looks great, but don't look at the seams too close!

Life's Challenges
So here we are, two months after Mike gets home from being gone for 140 days. Last Friday he was laid off from his job shore side. He is now having to go out to sea again, way too soon. I was browsing the internet Sunday looking for something and came across the clip above. This pretty much sums it up. It is my light at the end of the tunnel and the assurance that the lives of my family are in good hands. I am not ready for him to leave so soon, but I know I won't have to do it alone.

Digital Scrapbooking

I have been playing around with some digital scrapbooking the last couple of days. I am trying to find what I like best so I can get my thousands of pictures together into something we can enjoy in an actual album. I am working on Project 365 for my current stuff but need something for the last 6 years of pictures. I am definitely a beginner, what do you think?

Sir Francis Drake

Dylan did a biography report on Sir Francis Drake for school. They had to read all about a person of their choice, write a report and do an oral presentation as their person. Sir Francis Drake was a very famous English pirate. Why Dylan chose him I am not sure. I guess every little boy would love to become a pirate! It seems like we have had a lot of costume days, but I have had lots of fun creating the costumes. He turned out so cool. He was not fond of the ear ring, but I talked him into it. I hope the oral presentation goes well, he is so nervous!
