I hate the politics of coaching!!
Ok, this is going to be my little vent session. First off I would like to apologize to every coach my kids have had that I have judged too harshly or thought was not that great. The physical act of coaching the kids has been fun and rewarding............then the other side of it. Dealing with parents, other coaches, staff at he gym, trying to make sure everyone gets equal playing time without hurt feelings, UGH!! Then there is always 1 or 2 kids on your team you just have a hard time with but you have to deal with it, nicely. I have learned a lot about patience and keeping my cool and trying to represent myself how I want people to see me. At times I want to just scream and quit..........then when your kids play an amazing game that gets you so excited, makes it all worth it in the end!

Oh Bridget, this family hears you. Did you know that Trent coached from 1998-2007? He coached football, wrestling and baseball from the jr. high level to the jr. college level (RCC). I coached Tennis at the High School for 3 years one of which I was pregnant during. We have heard it all. All the excuses, all the problems, whining, etc...we are a good sounding board. I am glad it is all worth it in the end. It can be hard, but also rewarding, so glad you have seen the good side too.
Well, I think you guys have done great! Thanks again!
I know!!! I don't know why people are so unappreciative to coaches especially when they are mostly doing it for free. Hello. I have always been so grateful and accepting of any coach we have ever had. Some people are just lame. I'm sure youre doing great!
maybe its preparing you for your future with your childrens athletics.... then you will understand where the coach is coming from. hahah Oh well, nothing is 100% fun right? There is always a rough edge. But I still envy you... I LOVE VOLLEYBALL! ps my fingers are too fat to type these days...
